Plantar Fasciitis
It can usually start out as an annoying dull ache in the heel or heels. Standing for long periods of time can irritate it, resting for a period of time helps, but once you stand up, the pain is back! Avoid walking in socks or barefoot. This will make matters worse.
Stretching your feet can help, rolling your feet on a frozen water bottle can also feel good. But if you’re not getting any relief and it feels like the pain is increasing, then it’s time for some help.
Help can be achieved with some insoles. Try purchasing insoles from a retailer. These can be very inexpensive and could help. If you find that you’re constantly buying these types of insoles because the results don’t seem to last, then that is when you may want to consider custom insoles. Shop around, custom insoles can set you back an avg price of 450/600 a pair. And, most insurance does not cover the cost.
Try and find a business that makes the insoles on the spot. This way, you know how they feel and if they are going to work. Relief should be felt within seconds of wearing them. When they are sent to a lab, they tend to be very aggressive, which can be painful. If an adjustment needs to be made, then off to the lab they go. This process can become mundane and you’re still left in pain, ugh!!!
Shop around online and look for custom insoles, not “custom fitted.” Custom fitted are expensive insoles that are already made. Your feet are not identical, the arches do not fall the exact same way, so don’t let them fool you. Each insole should be made per foot!
Hope this helps!
